Soya Chop is a delicious vegetarian snack that can be easily made at home. This is a great meat-free alternative for kabab. Soya Chop or Kabab can be served with polau or porata also.

Soya Chop is a delicious vegetarian snack that can be easily made at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup soya chunks
- 5 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup boiled potato
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- water as needed to make a thin batter
- breadcrumbs as needed
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add soya chunks, salt and boil them for 10 minutes or till they turn soft.
- Squeeze off the excess water.
- Blend the soya chunks.
- Add mozzarella cheese, black pepper, chili flakes, salt, lemon juice, boiled potato, breadcrumbs one by one and give a good mix.
- Pinch a ball-sized mixture and shape these in form of rectangular or round cutlets also known as chop.
- In a small bowl, take corn flour, black pepper and salt. Add water and mix to make a thin batter.
- Take a piece of chop, dip in the corn flour mixture, then the breadcrumbs, gently pressing the crumbs into the chop, and set on a clean plate. Repeat with the remaining pieces of soya chop.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add the soya chops to the pan (work in batches if needed) and brown on each side.
- Soya Chop is ready to serve.
